Brighten Your Home with Shabby Chic Lamps and Lighting!

Lighting is one of the most powerful influences in your home. It really can have a direct effect on your mood! You probably sense this naturally on your own. But you don’t have to take our word for it — the psychological effect of lighting is an area of legitimate scientific research.

So lighting is really important, and that’s great news! Why? Because it means you don’t have to feel guilty about spending money on lighting! It’s more than just an indulgence. It’s for healthy living.

Let’s take a look at some examples of shabby chic lamps, to help you generate some ideas for your own home.

shabby chic bedside lamp

This lamp features lovely drapery over the shade. DIY project, anyone? This is definitely a technique you could use to turn a more conventional lamp into a shabby chic lamp.

Here’s is another shot of the same lamp. Note the beautiful chandelier in the background.

This is another interesting shabby chic floor lamp project from a very creative lady, Faylyne. She writes, “I replaced the shade with a metal plant hanger & attached floral material, lace, & a tassel to it.”

It’s a little hard to make out the detail in the photos — lamps can be tricky to photograph. But hopefully, you get the idea.

Another fun option is to go with a shabby chic chandelier! Once again, we turn to the talented Faylyne for an example.

Of this chandelier, she writes, “Just added a cute daffodil garland and some tulle to this small chandelier.”

We hope this will give you some great ideas! As you can see, you can achieve great results with projects that are not all that difficult, in terms of the technical skill required. The only real limit is your own creativity!
